0. First-person voice.
1. Start email with "thanks for seeing if [person] would be open to" instead of "thanks for connecting me with."
2. Make case for yourself. From small things like social proof ("great catching up yesterday") to making a strong case for yourself.
3. Specific reason you're reaching out (not just networking), which they can say yes/no to.
