TLDR
tRNS vs sham during executive function (EF) training. 10 sessions, one follow-up 3 weeks later, formal blinding check, short EEG monitor session and parent-reported sleep data. Found larger parent-rated symptom benefit vs sham (d≈0.94; 55–64% responders), no objective EF gains, sleep got a bit worse, and EEG shifts consistent with altered cortical E/I.

  • The only statistically significant result seems to be parent-reported ADHD scores.

  • EEG readouts:

    • Signals on EEG changed in a way that suggests the brain’s ‘gas vs brake’ balance in frontal cortex tipped slightly toward more excitation (gas) after tRNS.
      • That pattern has been linked to better attention in some contexts, though it’s an indirect proxy, not a direct measurement.
  • This is the strongest paper in support for Neurode's  technology (at least from the bunch they cite), and it's not very strong... No objective increases in scores, and the experiment was on children.

    • They either did a poor job of citing the papers in support for their tech, or the tech isn't backed by much at all...?
